After 4 played minutes Grêmio Bulls got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Freitas. Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Ramiro Gartzi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 7th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Virgílio da Rocha but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Bulls's zone, Julian Vellito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgílio da Rocha came out of the goal and Julian Vellito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julian Vellito was extremely unlucky when he, in the 11th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Defensores de Mar de Ajó booed when Grêmio Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Vellito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Montes in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgílio da Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julian Vellito struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Virgílio da Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defensores de Mar de Ajó. The crowd rose to their feet as Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Julio Peru slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Virgílio da Rocha. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. Nico Amaral hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute of the match, Julio Peru got a very nice opportunity to score, but Virgílio da Rocha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Julian Vellito fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores de Mar de Ajó's protests and gave Julian Vellito a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Defensores de Mar de Ajó got a freekick which was hit by Julian Vellito. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Xavier in the 28th minute of play forced Defensores de Mar de Ajó's goalkeeper Omar Bartuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jeremias Xavier fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio Bulls's protests and gave Jeremias Xavier a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, Grêmio Bulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Xavier to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeremias Xavier made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Ronaldinho Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Orlando Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Mar de Ajó's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Montes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgílio da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Julian Vellito got a free kick in the 57th minute. Virgílio da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Vellito in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Julio Peru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregorio Gonsalve hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. A collision led to Defensores de Mar de Ajó getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Ramiro Gartzi hit a great ball. Defensores de Mar de Ajó's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Jeremias Xavier scored to the left of an out of position Omar Bartuelo, making the score, 2-1. Virgílio da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Felipillo in the 83rd minute of the match. After 86 minutes of play, Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Julian Vellito made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgílio da Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Virgílio da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Felipillo in the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Grêmio Bulls players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Defensores de Mar de Ajó.
