The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Samuel Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iosif Lăzăroiu in the 4th minute of play. Niculae Povară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão Tepedino in the 7th minute of play. After 18 played minutes Alvinegro Carioca got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Quirino. If Vintilă Giubelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Alvinegro Carioca's Hamílton Brasil broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Samuel Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vintilă Giubelean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Giubelean in the 29th minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Samuel Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Alvinegro Carioca getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Kauan Santana hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Alvinegro Carioca's Caio Cabral got a free kick in the 40th minute. Caio Cabral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Niculae Povară made a huge save. 46 minutes into the match, Alvinegro Carioca's goal looked a bit too open when Iosif Lăzăroiu came free, but Samuel Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Alvinegro Carioca defense, Eugen Brânzaru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Pontes. The Alvinegro Carioca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Pontes should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iosif Lăzăroiu to make the kick off. If Dumitru Mirciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 59 minutes, Chicão Tepedino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alvinegro Carioca and the CF REALCipri players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Alvinegro Carioca getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Chicão Tepedino hit a great ball. Niculae Povară came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Alvinegro Carioca's Chicão Tepedino. But to his dismay, Chicão Tepedino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 71 played minutes Alvinegro Carioca got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Brasil. Samuel Pontes made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Iosif Lăzăroiu sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th match minute, Alvinegro Carioca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauan Santana to maneuver through the defense. Samuel Pontes came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by CF REALCipri's Iosif Lăzăroiu. But to his dismay, Iosif Lăzăroiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The supporters of CF REALCipri booed when Alvinegro Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Samuel Pontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iosif Lăzăroiu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Brânzaru in the 91st minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Samuel Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Tadeu Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Chicão Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, CF REALCipri failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
