The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mircea Jupân during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute, Mircea Jupân hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruperto Iruinea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vlad Covrig having to interfere. When Emanuel Dacian fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Emanuel Dacian a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Dacian. Alberto Gar charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Gar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th match minute, GARNIC FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gar to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Calistrat Şerbănescu suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 19th minute, one of GARNIC FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for GARNIC FC. Sebastian Istodor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Generoso Sotil having to make a save. In the 26th minute, Tiberiu Rotariu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Kemen in the 31st minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Vlad Covrig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, GARNIC FC's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Cârlan came free, but Generoso Sotil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sorin Nicorici hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Kemen in the 39th minute of play. Generoso Sotil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristi Borza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damian Cârlan scored 0-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Generoso Sotil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruperto Iruinea to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristi Borza was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of GARNIC FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca:s goal. When the match had been going on for 58 minutes, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Emanuel Dacian got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Generoso Sotil. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind GARNIC FC's goalkeeper Generoso Sotil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. GARNIC FC's Generoso Sotil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Cârlan in the 66th minute of play. Generoso Sotil came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Damian Cârlan. But to his dismay, Damian Cârlan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Damian Cârlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Tiberiu Rotariu hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Damian Cârlan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Generoso Sotil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Cristi Borza took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Generoso Sotil to make any attempt to save it. Sebastian Istodor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Sotil having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Cârlan in the 93rd minute of play forced GARNIC FC's goalkeeper Generoso Sotil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
