The audience thought a goal was coming when Calistrat Şerbănescu got free with Luiz Eduardo Novaes in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca defense, Lino Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vlad Covrig. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vlad Covrig should have stopped the shot. Vlad Covrig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Dacian hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. João Magalhães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vlad Covrig having to make a save. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Se7e was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball.

After 50 played minutes Se7e got a freekick which was hit by Jorginho Fonseca. In the 51st minute of the match Emanuel Dacian sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Eduardo Novaes skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Se7e booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sorin Nicorici didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Eduardo Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Cârlan in the 88th minute of play. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca from getting a goal against them. After 92 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Damian Cârlan. Sorin Nicorici hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
