Fabricio Steven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacques Stovall in the 20th minute of the match. Fabricio Steven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacques Stovall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. New England Minas's Jacques Stovall got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herminio Iyan kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Fabricio Steven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacques Stovall, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute of the game, Herminio Iyan landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Brice Wang charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brice Wang the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Brice Wang got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Waylon McQueen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabricio Steven came out and tried to block the shot, but Waylon McQueen slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteban Bitxintxo to make the kick off. New England Minas's João Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Ramone in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Fabricio Steven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Victorino Servando kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in San Martin de Tucuman's zone, DeAngelo Petty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabricio Steven came out of the goal and DeAngelo Petty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by DeAngelo Petty to maneuver through the defense. New England Minas's João Leite proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save New England Minas from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the game, Jacques Stovall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New England Minas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Martin de Tucuman the free kick. In the 85th minute, Jacques Stovall made a precise shot to the right of Fabricio Steven. San Martin de Tucuman's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Alfonso Weather got a free kick in the 90th minute. After 91 minutes, Mario Hayes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New England Minas and the San Martin de Tucuman players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Mario Hayes hit a great ball. After some careless play in the San Martin de Tucuman defense, Jacques Stovall kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabricio Steven. The San Martin de Tucuman fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabricio Steven should have stopped the shot. San Martin de Tucuman's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
