After a defensive mix-up in AllRaf EC's zone, Kennet Bergqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Renato Martins came out of the goal and Kennet Bergqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 6 minutes into the game, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paulo Renato Martins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilson Prata charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilson Prata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gilson Prata kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 10thth minute of the game Aaron Kvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AllRaf EC's Paulo Renato Martins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Kvist. Paulo Renato Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Kvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute Aaron Kvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink. In the 25th match minute, Leeds United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Lönn to maneuver through the defense. Elliott Levander acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gilson Prata. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique da Cunha got free with Elliott Levander in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the AllRaf EC defense, Kennet Bergqvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Renato Martins. The AllRaf EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Renato Martins should have stopped the shot. Paulo Renato Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Kvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. AllRaf EC's Paulo Renato Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary McAlister in the 47th minute of play. The AllRaf EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Leeds United FC were winning 0-2.

Aaron Kvist's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paulo Renato Martins firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of AllRaf EC booed when Leeds United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Grubb didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gordon Strachan came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Leeds United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordon Strachan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to AllRaf EC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Enrique da Cunha hit a great ball. Gilson Prata kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Ramalho couldn't finish the play.
