Doriva Medeiros made in the 8th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luiz Eduardo Pimenta immediately put the ball in play. 11 minutes into the match, Rockets's goalkeeper Geraldo Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Antonio Acle. Santiago Aguayo took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Geraldo Queiroz. Geraldo Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 17 minutes, Santiago Aguayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DEOXYS F.C. and the Rockets players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in DEOXYS F.C.'s zone, Dudu Madureira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Harun came out of the goal and Dudu Madureira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Melo in the 21st minute of play forced DEOXYS F.C.'s goalkeeper Osvaldo Harun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Dudu Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osvaldo Harun was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. 24 minutes into the match, DEOXYS F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Eduardo Pimenta came free, but Osvaldo Harun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Dudu Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Harun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Madureira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silvio Rengifo's late challenge caught a Rockets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dudu Madureira in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldo Harun saved DEOXYS F.C. from getting behind. 77 minutes into the game, Edu Mangueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rockets's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DEOXYS F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Rockets getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Edu Mangueira hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Rockets's Dudu Madureira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osvaldo Harun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 88 minutes into the game, Rockets's Dudu Madureira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldo Harun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. DEOXYS F.C.'s Osvaldo Harun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save DEOXYS F.C. from getting a goal against them.
