Geraldo Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 16 minutes, Joélson Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rockets's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joélson Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edvaldo de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudu Madureira in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Rockets booed when CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Didi Mineiro took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Geraldo Queiroz to make any attempt to save it. Fabinho Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Edvaldo de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dudu Madureira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvaldo de Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. 34 minutes into the game, Dudu Madureira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Edvaldo de Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Dudu Madureira came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Rockets fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu Madureira couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the game, Natã de Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rockets the free kick. Joélson Melo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edvaldo de Sousa. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute, Valério Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radamel Falcao in the 57th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Joélson Melo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvaldo de Sousa was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Dudu Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Edvaldo de Sousa made a huge save. After 66 played minutes Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Valério Peres. 69 minutes into the match, Rockets's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Mineiro came free, but Geraldo Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA booed when Rockets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geraldo Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Radamel Falcao kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Fabinho Mattos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edvaldo de Sousa, 6-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radamel Falcao in the 92nd minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Geraldo Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Dudu Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rockets's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
