Spectators: 147 (Terracing: 111, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) FC Star City's Ryszard Iwaszko started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of FC Star City booed when Gwarek Zabrze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grzegorz Cwenar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ryszard Iwaszko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Witomir Czeszyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Witomir Czeszyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryszard Iwaszko in the 7th minute of play. Waldemar Markowski was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Grzegorz Cwenar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ignacy Galagan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Witomir Czeszyk having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Ryszard Iwaszko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Star City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryszard Iwaszko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gwarek Zabrze's Witomir Czeszyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacy Galagan in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Miroslaw Mochowak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ignacy Galagan took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Witomir Czeszyk. Witomir Czeszyk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Tomasz Czermak fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gwarek Zabrze's protests and gave Tomasz Czermak a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Gwarek Zabrze got a freekick which was hit by Tomasz Czermak. Ignacy Galagan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Star City's Ignacy Galagan got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Ryszard Iwaszko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Witomir Czeszyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Gwarek Zabrze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernard Koperski to maneuver through the defense. Witomir Czeszyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacy Galagan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Gwarek Zabrze getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bernard Koperski hit a great ball. Szymon Burdzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Markowski having to interfere.

Waldemar Markowski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kazimierz Makarewicz went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, FC Star City's Ignacy Galagan got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 69 played minutes Gwarek Zabrze got a freekick which was hit by Tomasz Czermak. Ignacy Galagan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Witomir Czeszyk having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimierz Makarewicz in the 79th minute of play forced FC Star City's goalkeeper Waldemar Markowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
