An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeo Inguma in the 40th minute of play forced Hartlepool's goalkeeper Birger Hedman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Asserlind struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Joey Stori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hartlepool. In the 46th minute Arne Hellström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joey Stori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Hartlepool were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Lucio Ariando made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Hartlepool's goal looked a bit too open when Lucio Ariando came free, but Birger Hedman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fred Dalgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joey Stori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Dalgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Real Espartillar fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Real Espartillar's Amadeo Inguma looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 92 minutes into the match, Real Espartillar's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Dalgren came free, but Joey Stori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joey Stori made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Asserlind in the 94th minute. Hartlepool's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Real Espartillar had won, even though Hartlepool had held more of the ball.
