When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Kornél Szabó took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Valentin Asserlindh to make any attempt to save it. Valentin Asserlindh made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Mihály Madarász sent off a good shot on target. Béla Medgyesi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Nordström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Kornél Szabó had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Valentin Asserlindh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kornél Szabó in the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Kornél Szabó got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Mihály Madarász hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes, Mátyás Gácsi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TUSE and the FF Små Gröna Män players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to TUSE getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mihály Madarász got free with Valentin Asserlindh in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FF Små Gröna Män's Valentin Asserlindh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save FF Små Gröna Män from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute Kornél Szabó shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Asserlindh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mihály Madarász made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Mihály Madarász shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Asserlindh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, FF Små Gröna Män's goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Madarász came free, but Valentin Asserlindh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. TUSE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihály Madarász was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Kornél Szabó had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, FF Små Gröna Män's goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Madarász came free, but Valentin Asserlindh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th minute, Kornél Szabó left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TUSE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. FF Små Gröna Män's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because TUSE had won, even though FF Små Gröna Män had held more of the ball.
