The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Utopía Muerta FC's Rogelio Garikoitz got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Placido Abaunza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Konrad Wanger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Cayetano Ponc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Schurke F.C's Aurelio Mederi threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlo Richter, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marcus Keller stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Placido Abaunza's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Jürgen Spalt hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Marcus Keller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Abaunza, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Utopía Muerta FC's Jonas Socorro got a free kick in the 28th minute. When Cayetano Tiniebra came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Utopía Muerta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cayetano Tiniebra couldn't finish the play. Marcus Keller didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Narciso Fix went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Schurke F.C's Marcus Keller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Fix in the 35th minute of play. Marcus Keller didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cayetano Tiniebra went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Narciso Fix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Placido Abaunza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcus Keller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cayetano Tiniebra, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Marcus Keller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Fix in the 56th minute of play. In the 65th minute Narciso Fix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Keller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Tiniebra in the 66th minute of play forced Schurke F.C's goalkeeper Marcus Keller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Placido Abaunza got free with Marcus Keller in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 played minutes Schurke F.C got a freekick which was hit by Gerd Kathan. After a rather tough play, Schurke F.C's Konrad Wanger got a free kick in the 72nd minute. If Placido Abaunza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcus Keller made an important save on a dangerous shot by Placido Abaunza in the 78th minute. Placido Abaunza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Marcus Keller made a huge save. Schurke F.C's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Narciso Fix 86 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. 89 minutes into the game, Alfonso Gaskon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Utopía Muerta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schurke F.C the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Schurke F.C's zone, Fidel Norino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Keller came out of the goal and Fidel Norino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Utopía Muerta FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
