The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Aquiles Cordearo fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Retorno de Palermo's protests and gave Aquiles Cordearo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Cordearo to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Tiniebra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nae Morar having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodor Jilăveanu in the 8th minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Amancio Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rigoberto Anaya during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to El Retorno de Palermo getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Rigoberto Anaya hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Ştefan Florescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the ASF BAIA MARE -MM- defense, Osvaldo Tiniebra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nae Morar. The ASF BAIA MARE -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nae Morar should have stopped the shot. Octav Glăvan struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Amancio Urtats didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ASF BAIA MARE -MM-. Octav Glăvan came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Amancio Urtats could save by the left post. Amancio Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octav Glăvan in the 24th minute of the match. 0-2 became the score in the 27th minute when Osvaldo Tiniebra elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nae Morar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Cordearo in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Higinio Azibar got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Teodor Jilăveanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amancio Urtats was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radu Moldovan in the 37th minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Amancio Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ASF BAIA MARE -MM-! Victor Lehior placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When El Retorno de Palermo's Aquiles Cordearo in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The wind increased when Octav Glăvan made the kick off in the second half. The corner led ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Octav Glăvan to fire away a dangerous shot which Amancio Urtats despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Osvaldo Tiniebra got a free kick in the 55th minute. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Octav Glăvan got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aquiles Cordearo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Nae Morar made a huge save. Aquiles Cordearo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Nae Morar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of ASF BAIA MARE -MM- booed when El Retorno de Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Anaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Lehior was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Octav Glăvan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Amancio Urtats was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Astor Abar took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nae Morar. Nae Morar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Osvaldo Tiniebra kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Octav Glăvan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Octav Glăvan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teodor Jilăveanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. El Retorno de Palermo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
