The El Pinar fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when El Pinar's Florian Secanell looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Antoine Miggiani came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tomas Olazarra could save by the left post. In the 26th minute Alessio Cristina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Olazarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Fabio Rapa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tomas Olazarra, 1-1. After 44 minutes of play El Pinar's Florian Secanell was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Antoine Miggiani kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. El Pinar were furious when Teyo Ebro was red carded, 47 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Stephen Bonnici, 49 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabio Rapa was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute, El Pinar's Cordarrol Montez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind William Troisi. William Troisi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 63rd minute Alfred Pavia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Olazarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. William Troisi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hipolito Cortez in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, El Pinar's goal looked a bit too open when Antoine Miggiani came free, but Tomas Olazarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Fabio Rapa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Olazarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Antoine Miggiani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomas Olazarra was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Cordarrol Montez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Rapa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Tomas Olazarra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Fabio Rapa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Olazarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Rapa in the 85th minute of play forced El Pinar's goalkeeper Tomas Olazarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
