The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's Sarp Doğan got a free kick in the 5th minute. Fadıl Demirtekin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Ferraz in the 11th minute of the match. Jo Calleri might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fadıl Demirtekin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jo Calleri ran back to his position shaking his head. Vicente Ferraz scored 2-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fadıl Demirtekin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sezer Cabir struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Francisco Alagoano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C BEŞİKTAŞ. João Carlos Antunes hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When Sezer Cabir fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's protests and gave Sezer Cabir a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Palmares Futebol Clube booed when F.C BEŞİKTAŞ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sezer Cabir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jo Calleri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Carlos Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Fadıl Demirtekin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jo Calleri in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Claudinei Loureiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fadıl Demirtekin. The goal made the score 3-0.

The wind increased when Sarp Doğan made the kick off in the second half. Fadıl Demirtekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Ferraz in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Sezer Cabir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by João Carlos Antunes. Sarp Doğan charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sarp Doğan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Sarp Doğan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 60 minutes, Thomás Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmares Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomás Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 63rd minute of the match Sezer Cabir completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Sezer Cabir a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 64 played minutes F.C BEŞİKTAŞ got a freekick which was hit by Sezer Cabir. When Jo Calleri came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Palmares Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jo Calleri couldn't finish the play. In the 69th match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Salles to maneuver through the defense. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Toninho Torres replaced Rubens Recife. The supporters of F.C BEŞİKTAŞ booed when Palmares Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerson Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fadıl Demirtekin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudinei Loureiro went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Jo Calleri might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fadıl Demirtekin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jo Calleri ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the match, F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Loureiro came free, but Fadıl Demirtekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's Fadıl Demirtekin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jo Calleri in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Palmares Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Vicente Ferraz went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Loureiro in the 86th minute of play forced F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's goalkeeper Fadıl Demirtekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fadıl Demirtekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Calleri, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Loureiro in the 91st minute of play forced F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's goalkeeper Fadıl Demirtekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Vicente Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fadıl Demirtekin. F.C BEŞİKTAŞ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vicente Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Palmares Futebol Clube's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
