After a rather tough play, Het Koffiehuis's Anton Reniers got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Het Koffiehuis's zone, Bartoleme Sarro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philipp De Messemaecker came out of the goal and Bartoleme Sarro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Anton Reniers came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Het Koffiehuis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anton Reniers couldn't finish the play. Marcelo Zalayeta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 46 minutes, Maxim Rutten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Het Koffiehuis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxim Rutten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When Weterio Velaostegui fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The Het Koffiehuis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Philipp De Messemaecker should have stopped the shot. After having played for 65 minutes, Lluterio Mendibuey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
