The penalty shot was made by Viorel Firu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of MELATES F.C.'s Themos Maridis. 0-1. After a rather tough play, MELATES F.C.'s Takis Mantas got a free kick in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alexandria Team08's zone, Takis Mantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corneliu Macamete came out of the goal and Takis Mantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to MELATES F.C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. MELATES F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Takis Mantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. MELATES F.C.'s Themos Maridis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save MELATES F.C. from getting a goal against them. When Takis Mantas came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the MELATES F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Takis Mantas couldn't finish the play. Alexandria Team08 were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over MELATES F.C.'s much stronger midfield.
