Cristo Rico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Constantino Bemabe, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Esteve Millano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burni Justo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 35 minutes, Constantino Bemabe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alijilán returns and the Real Club Celta de Vigo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Real Club Celta de Vigo booed when Alijilán returns was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantino Bemabe didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Justino Monico during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41st minute, Justino Monico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Real Club Celta de Vigo getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Julen Planes hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Constantino Bemabe came free, but Cristo Rico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Burni Justo made a kick off. Real Club Celta de Vigo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Constantino Bemabe scored to the left of an out of position Cristo Rico, making the score, 1-2. 57 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Constantino Bemabe came free, but Cristo Rico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristo Rico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Monico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes Real Club Celta de Vigo got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Santander. After some careless play in the Real Club Celta de Vigo defense, Gustavo Bide kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristo Rico. The Real Club Celta de Vigo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristo Rico should have stopped the shot. Real Club Celta de Vigo's Cristo Rico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Monico in the 65th minute of play. Cristo Rico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Constantino Bemabe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristo Rico made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Gustavo Bide sent off a good shot on target. Esteve Millano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Burni Justo in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Justino Monico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Rico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Alijilán returns's goal looked a bit too open when Burni Justo came free, but Esteve Millano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Burni Justo in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esteve Millano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atilano Cordarrol kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. A collision led to Real Club Celta de Vigo getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Alvar Blanco hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Alijilán returns's Justino Monico slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristo Rico. That made the score 1-4 after 87 minutes of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Alijilán returns walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
