OROTINENSE's Israel Contreras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save OROTINENSE from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the game, Mikael Viquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OROTINENSE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportivo Fernet Branca the free kick. The supporters of Sportivo Fernet Branca booed when OROTINENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikael Viquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes of play, Sportivo Fernet Branca's Artemio Salomon made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Israel Contreras was left in no man's land by his defense there! 30 minutes into the game, Artemio Salomon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Israel Contreras was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 36 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Rufo came free, but Israel Contreras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Mazuste charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pedro Rufo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 42nd playminute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Mazuste made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Alfredo Mazuste managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a rather tough play, OROTINENSE's Chunche Azofeifa got a free kick in the 59th minute. Israel Contreras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Rufo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The supporters of OROTINENSE booed when Sportivo Fernet Branca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Rufo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Rufo came free, but Israel Contreras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Israel Contreras didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Mazuste went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Israel Contreras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Emeterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Mazuste in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Israel Contreras saved OROTINENSE from getting behind. Sportivo Fernet Branca were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after OROTINENSE's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Cebo took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Arnaldo Cebo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Israel Contreras quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Israel Contreras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Salomon, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixto Xabier in the 83rd minute of play forced OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Israel Contreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Israel Contreras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Salomon in the 88th minute of the match. When Michael Saborio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. After 90 played minutes OROTINENSE got a freekick which was hit by Michael Saborio. In the 92nd minute, Fabio Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the OROTINENSE defense, Alfredo Mazuste kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Israel Contreras. The OROTINENSE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Israel Contreras should have stopped the shot. Sportivo Fernet Branca's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
