The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, ATLETICO TOSODELMA's goalkeeper Julian Favila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albert Purkiss. When Johnathan Morse came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Ampthill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnathan Morse couldn't finish the play. A collision led to ATLETICO TOSODELMA getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Virgilio Guillelmus hit a great ball. After 10 played minutes Ampthill FC got a freekick which was hit by Paul Francis. If Johnathan Morse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute, Lucio Ixidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of ATLETICO TOSODELMA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ampthill FC:s goal. Ampthill FC's Andy Findley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelino Ferrando in the 29th minute of play. Andy Findley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingo Larra, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Julian Favila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnathan Morse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Albert Purkiss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albert Purkiss to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, ATLETICO TOSODELMA's goal looked a bit too open when Johnathan Morse came free, but Julian Favila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute of the match, Domingo Larra tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andy Findley saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Julian Favila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathan Morse in the 59th minute of play. After 60 minutes, Jeremy Coombe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ampthill FC and the ATLETICO TOSODELMA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th minute, Jeremy Coombe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ampthill FC's zone, Domingo Larra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andy Findley came out of the goal and Domingo Larra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johnathan Morse's late challenge caught a ATLETICO TOSODELMA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johnathan Morse helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Johnathan Morse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Johnathan Morse came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Ampthill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnathan Morse couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Johnathan Morse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julian Favila was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. 84 minutes into the game, Ampthill FC's Johnathan Morse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julian Favila made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domingo Larra during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ampthill FC booed when ATLETICO TOSODELMA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Larra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 played minutes ATLETICO TOSODELMA got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Larra. Albert Purkiss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
