Alin Şoltuz's late challenge caught a Ampthill FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alin Şoltuz helped the player get up and apologised. 7 minutes into the game, Albert Purkiss cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. George Agachi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 9th match minute, Ampthill FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camron Ashby to maneuver through the defense. When Alin Şoltuz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 14 minutes had been played. A collision led to Galati Harbour Cats getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Alin Şoltuz hit a great ball. Gwyn Halliwell kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 22 played minutes Galati Harbour Cats got a freekick which was hit by Vali Ghețea. Calistrat Glăvan hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ampthill FC's Jamie Kemp tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Paul Francis struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. George Agachi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ampthill FC. In the 34th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corneliu Hurmuzescu to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Albert Purkiss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ampthill FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Purkiss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Agachi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. George Agachi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Purkiss, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Vali Ghețea fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galati Harbour Cats's protests and gave Vali Ghețea a yellow card for diving instead. Vali Ghețea hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute of the match Jamie Kemp sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but George Agachi skillfully saved the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

With his leg George Agachi managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Ampthill FC's Albert Purkiss fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A hard shot 54 in the game by Albert Purkiss from a close distance when the talented George Agachi managed to make a qualified save. Galati Harbour Cats's players were relieved. In the 60th minute, Vali Ghețea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 played minutes Ampthill FC got a freekick which was hit by Camron Ashby. In the 62nd minute, Vali Ghețea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andy Findley was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Vali Ghețea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Andy Findley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Traian Slătineanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galati Harbour Cats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ampthill FC the free kick. In the 69th minute, Traian Slătineanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galati Harbour Cats's George Agachi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. Jeremy Coombe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. George Agachi came out and tried to block the shot, but Jeremy Coombe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 76th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Albert Purkiss could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which George Agachi however easily saved by the left post. Andy Findley came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Galati Harbour Cats's Corneliu Hurmuzescu. But to his dismay, Corneliu Hurmuzescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. George Agachi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camron Ashby in the 92nd minute of play. Albert Purkiss in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of George Agachi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match was over Ampthill FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Galati Harbour Cats throughout the match.
