Spectators: 157 (Terracing: 118, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mazinho Baptista started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Alagoano in the 7th minute of play forced Loco De Remate's goalkeeper Samuel Mancio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Alvaro Resto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samuel Mancio came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Wellington Phoenix's Amadeu Maranhense. But to his dismay, Amadeu Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 16 minutes into the game, Anibal Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Loco De Remate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wellington Phoenix the free kick. In the 16th minute, Anibal Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Loco De Remate's zone, Gustavo Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Mancio came out of the goal and Gustavo Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, Gerardo Bibiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Loco De Remate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wellington Phoenix the free kick. After 18 played minutes Loco De Remate got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Bibiano. Samuel Mancio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Zonta in the 19th minute of the match. Natalio Ur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Benedito Silveira made a huge save. Alvaro Resto had several of the Wellington Phoenix's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 28 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Benedito Silveira as he didn't even see the shot coming. The supporters of Wellington Phoenix booed when Loco De Remate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anibal Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Mancio came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Wellington Phoenix's Mazinho Baptista. But to his dismay, Mazinho Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After some careless play in the Loco De Remate defense, Mazinho Baptista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Mancio. The Loco De Remate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Mancio should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Jesus Librado put in a rough tackle. When Amadeu Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Wellington Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeu Maranhense couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Amadeu Maranhense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuel Mancio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. The Loco De Remate players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Wellington Phoenix were winning 2-4.

The wind increased when Anibal Marquez made the kick off in the second half. Dé Rossi's late challenge caught a Loco De Remate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dé Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. Virgílio Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvaro Resto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedito Silveira having to make a save. After 60 played minutes Loco De Remate got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Ur. The supporters of Wellington Phoenix booed when Loco De Remate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Ur didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th play minute Amadeu Maranhense came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Samuel Mancio. 2-5. In the 68th minute of the match, Virgílio Alagoano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Samuel Mancio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Samuel Mancio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Alagoano in the 74th minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Loco De Remate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Ixona to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Loco De Remate getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Natalio Ur hit a great ball. After 87 minutes, Natalio Ur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Loco De Remate and the Wellington Phoenix players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, Natalio Ur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute of the match Virgílio Alagoano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Mancio skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Wellington Phoenix's Juarês Ceresso got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Marquez came free, but Benedito Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Wellington Phoenix players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
