The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. THE FAVOURITES's Jedrzej Soszka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Szymanski in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's Ehrhard Bonacker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jedrzej Soszka narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 15 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Szymanski. Oscar Sandkühler made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Lucjan Madajczyk sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Krzysztof Dulemba came free, but Oscar Sandkühler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Stanislaw Iwaszko fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored THE FAVOURITES's protests and gave Stanislaw Iwaszko a yellow card for diving instead. Stanislaw Iwaszko kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Sebastian Szymanski made a precise shot to the right of Jedrzej Soszka. THE FAVOURITES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Wasyl Lato's late challenge caught a KFC Uerdingen 05's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wasyl Lato helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when THE FAVOURITES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wasyl Lato didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Pierre Van Hoojdonk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute of the match Alois Fontagnier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jedrzej Soszka showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the THE FAVOURITES defense, Sebastian Szymanski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jedrzej Soszka. The THE FAVOURITES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jedrzej Soszka should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Szymanski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebald Gillesen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jedrzej Soszka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Sebastian Szymanski struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jedrzej Soszka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. If Lucjan Madajczyk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rafal Kowalski came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the THE FAVOURITES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafal Kowalski couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the game, Sebastian Szymanski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Jedrzej Soszka was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 69th minute, Hartwig Kirsch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. THE FAVOURITES's Jedrzej Soszka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save THE FAVOURITES from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, THE FAVOURITES's Jedrzej Soszka got control of the ball when Sebastian Szymanski tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Lucjan Madajczyk fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
