Joos Sloeve was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Manolo Ucero stood somewhat misplaced when Carel Verdonckt came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 16 minute. In the 19th match minute, FC Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lou Snoekens to maneuver through the defense. After 20 played minutes, PERSPOLIS's Xuaco Otero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joos Sloeve came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PERSPOLIS reached it. FC Gullegem's Joos Sloeve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eladio Teresa in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Gaston Delgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joos Sloeve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th match minute, FC Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lou Snoekens to maneuver through the defense. Xuaco Otero might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joos Sloeve. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xuaco Otero ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eladio Teresa in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Gullegem's goalkeeper Joos Sloeve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, FC Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Delgado came free, but Joos Sloeve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Eladio Teresa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joos Sloeve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joos Sloeve showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eladio Teresa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when FC Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goffrey Demarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Goffrey Demarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joos Sloeve showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Delgado in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Eladio Teresa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joos Sloeve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gertjan Waterloos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Manolo Ucero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Delgado made a kick off. Gertjan Waterloos hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Joos Sloeve made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaston Delgado in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the match, FC Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Guter Lama came free, but Joos Sloeve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Gullegem booed when PERSPOLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eladio Teresa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manolo Ucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carel Verdonckt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaston Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Gullegem's Joos Sloeve got control of the ball when Gaston Delgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eladio Teresa in the 70th minute of play forced FC Gullegem's goalkeeper Joos Sloeve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Guter Lama hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guter Lama in the 88th minute of play forced FC Gullegem's goalkeeper Joos Sloeve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaston Delgado took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joos Sloeve. Joos Sloeve dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Carel Verdonckt struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Manolo Ucero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gullegem.
