Baldomero Cayo made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Stig Björklund sent off a good shot on target. Kurt Mager took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Clementi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Stig Björklund took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Baldomero Cayo to make any attempt to save it. Stig Björklund kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 24thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Fleetwood Town's keeper Baldomero Cayo was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Baldomero Cayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Olof Jelm in the 31st minute of the match. Baldomero Cayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Dahlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Stig Björklund took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baldomero Cayo. Baldomero Cayo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute, Per-Olof Jelm made a precise shot to the right of Baldomero Cayo. Fleetwood Town's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1.
