Universitario's Guillen Mijangos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathías Oddsson in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Æsir Ásgarðr getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Hrói Indriðason hit a great ball. After 23 played minutes Universitario got a freekick which was hit by Garcia Dalaje. In the 24th minute, Ámundi Hallmundsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Æsir Ásgarðr fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 28th match minute, Æsir Ásgarðr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sólbjörn Guðnason to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Universitario getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Nesor Ennecon hit a great ball. Mórits Hamarsson scored 0-4 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guillen Mijangos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th match minute, Æsir Ásgarðr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hrói Indriðason to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bonifacio Echarriza during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute of the match Aron Hafbergsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guillen Mijangos skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

52 minutes into the match, Ámundi Hallmundsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guillen Mijangos. Universitario's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ámundi Hallmundsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. With a little luck, Universitario's Guillen Mijangos got control of the ball when Mathías Oddsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th match minute, Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gizon Alaiza to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ámundi Hallmundsson in the 71st minute of play forced Universitario's goalkeeper Guillen Mijangos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillen Mijangos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sólbjörn Guðnason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guillen Mijangos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. The Universitario fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Æsir Ásgarðr were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
