The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andrez Van Aertvinck kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Ive Verhoeven came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by A.D Garotos do Vale's Maicon Alagoano. But to his dismay, Maicon Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ive Verhoeven stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maicon Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. A.D Garotos do Vale's Augusto Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswald Haeselaers in the 19th minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 23rd minute when Oswald Haeselaers elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Augusto Pimenta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiel Stercks in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to A.D Garotos do Vale getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Cléber Capixaba hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Maicon Alagoano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ive Verhoeven was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Cléber Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ive Verhoeven having to interfere. Ademir de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ive Verhoeven having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, A.D Garotos do Vale's Maicon Alagoano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ive Verhoeven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The Haithabu FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. A.D Garotos do Vale were winning 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maicon Alagoano to make the kick off. Augusto Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrez Van Aertvinck in the 53rd minute of play. A.D Garotos do Vale's Ademir de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ademir de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augusto Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswald Haeselaers, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Cléber Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. A collision led to A.D Garotos do Vale getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ulisses do Valle hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the game, Maicon Alagoano lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Ive Verhoeven. Michel Mota hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswald Haeselaers in the 70th minute of play forced A.D Garotos do Vale's goalkeeper Augusto Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Haithabu FC booed when A.D Garotos do Vale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 minutes, Oswald Haeselaers made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. A.D Garotos do Vale's Augusto Pimenta tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Andrez Van Aertvinck spun around in front of the goal 86 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of A.D Garotos do Vale's goal. 88 minutes into the match, Oswald Haeselaers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Augusto Pimenta. A.D Garotos do Vale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oswald Haeselaers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Emiel Stercks put it in 4-5 from a short distance just to the right of Augusto Pimenta. With a little luck, Haithabu FC's Ive Verhoeven got control of the ball when Maicon Alagoano tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. A.D Garotos do Vale walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
