Girona FC's Toni Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlad Papadima in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Juventus Țiu's Denis Bologa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toni Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Fabricio Palomar's late challenge caught a Juventus Țiu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Palomar helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Girona FC's Hector-Luis Alfaro got a free kick in the 35th minute. Toni Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vlad Papadima, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Bologa in the 40th minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Toni Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 42 minutes on the clock, Mugurel Buda commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 43 played minutes Juventus Țiu got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Buda. With a little luck, Girona FC's Toni Vera got control of the ball when Denis Bologa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juventus Țiu's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
