The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Videl Amaya got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Astillero del Guayas's Corozo Nevares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Astillero del Guayas from getting a goal against them. Corozo Nevares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lázaro Ascencio in the 6th minute of play. After 7 played minutes Almeyra F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Salvino. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Hernandez got free with Corozo Nevares in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute, Roman Hernandez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Almeyra F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lavalle Allo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. When Almeyra F.C.'s Lázaro Ascencio in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Almeyra F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Omar Gayo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roman Hernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Almeyra F.C.'s Lázaro Ascencio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 57th match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klimowicz Marto to maneuver through the defense. Edelmiro Ticho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victoriano Fortuño went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Xantalen Sella got a free kick in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lázaro Ascencio in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Corozo Nevares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lázaro Ascencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corozo Nevares having to interfere. Marcelo Pujado charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Pujado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Marcelo Pujado hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Ascencio in the 92nd minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Corozo Nevares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Roman Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that Almeyra F.C. were the better team. Almeyra F.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
