After 62 minutes, Sandrinho Catarinense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xandeco FC and the Club Atletico Rio Tercero players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 64 minutes, Prospero Paio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Prospero Paio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Xandeco FC booed when Club Atletico Rio Tercero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Paio didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Prospero Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Oliveira's late challenge caught a Club Atletico Rio Tercero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xandeco FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgílio Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benigno Gora breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th match minute, Xandeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. Chants of Xandeco FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Club Atletico Rio Tercero had held the ball for most of the match.
