In the 2nd minute, Nicanor Sengrat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gică Melinte sped through Talleres's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rigoberto Olayo. In the 9th match minute, Delphine Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabin Soneriu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gică Melinte in the 16th minute of play forced Talleres's goalkeeper Rigoberto Olayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Denis Nenciu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Talleres's Rigoberto Olayo. Rigoberto Olayo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 23 minutes into the game, Delphine Stars's Emanuel Tiberiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rigoberto Olayo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The supporters of Talleres booed when Delphine Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Ciorăscu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Carolo Montrelle hit a great ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Hermengildo Cesario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talleres's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermengildo Cesario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rigoberto Olayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Bălășoiu in the 36th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Gică Melinte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Rigoberto Olayo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Talleres's Rigoberto Olayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Melinte in the 42nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gică Melinte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rigoberto Olayo was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dieguito Maradona was the one to do the kick off. Gică Melinte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Ben Chepchumba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Cristian Baștină was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gică Melinte got free with Rigoberto Olayo in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute, Carolo Montrelle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rigoberto Olayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Gorcea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigoberto Olayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Gorcea in the 68th minute of play. Emanuel Tiberiu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rigoberto Olayo came out and tried to block the shot, but Emanuel Tiberiu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 69th minute. In the 76th minute, Maximo Solustiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Tiberiu in the 77th minute of play forced Talleres's goalkeeper Rigoberto Olayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Talleres's Rigoberto Olayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Gorcea in the 80th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Talleres's goal looked a bit too open when Mugur Gorcea came free, but Rigoberto Olayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Talleres's Rigoberto Olayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Tiberiu in the 87th minute of play. Manole Bălășoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Rigoberto Olayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90thth minute of the game Gică Melinte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Talleres's Rigoberto Olayo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Delphine Stars's Emanuel Tiberiu got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, Delphine Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Nenciu to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Delphine Stars had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
