The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Blaise Castera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, BLACK BULL's Thomas Gascon threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alberto Mendonça, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 13th minute, Victor Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adilson Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blaise Castera in the 16th minute of the match. R.C. Marseille's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cyril Bec in the 17th minute. The corner led R.C. Marseille's Cyril Bec to fire away a dangerous shot which Adilson Sanches despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 21 played minutes R.C. Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Moïse Chauveau. R.C. Marseille's Thomas Gascon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute, Blaise Castera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The R.C. Marseille fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Blaise Castera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 35 minutes of play, R.C. Marseille's Omar Suchet made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adilson Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adilson Sanches didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blaise Castera went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 47 minutes into the game, Blaise Castera cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Adilson Sanches was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

In the 53rd minute Alberto Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Gascon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Omar Suchet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adilson Sanches was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. BLACK BULL's Walmir Severo was substituted for Alberto Mendonça. Thomas Gascon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Severo in the 68th minute of the match. BLACK BULL's Adilson Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Suchet in the 72nd minute of play. Waldemar Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adilson Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Suchet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omar Suchet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Adilson Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Walmir Severo put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Thomas Gascon. R.C. Marseille's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
