Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Gélis to maneuver through the defense. Emanuel Tiberiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Thomas Gascon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Emanuel Tiberiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Delphine Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of R.C. Marseille booed when Delphine Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicodim Drăgan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Denis Nenciu fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Delphine Stars's protests and gave Denis Nenciu a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes Delphine Stars got a freekick which was hit by Denis Nenciu. R.C. Marseille's Cyril Bec shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cristian Baștină but with some difficulty. The supporters of Delphine Stars booed when R.C. Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blaise Castera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Baștină made an important save on a dangerous shot by Blaise Castera in the 43rd minute. Delphine Stars's Cristian Baștină played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blaise Castera in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blaise Castera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's Gustave Icard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Baștină narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Gustave Icard managed to get in a good position for a shot. R.C. Marseille's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustave Icard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Baștină breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Delphine Stars getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Manole Bălășoiu hit a great ball. Emanuel Tiberiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Gascon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Emanuel Tiberiu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thomas Gascon. Emanuel Tiberiu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. After 71 played minutes Delphine Stars got a freekick which was hit by Nicodim Drăgan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emanuel Tiberiu in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Gascon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 96 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's Blaise Castera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Baștină narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Delphine Stars's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
