After some careless play in the Dogo Argentino defense, Texeira Noceda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raimundo Miro. The Dogo Argentino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundo Miro should have stopped the shot. Raúl Lombera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 10th minute Texeira Noceda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Miro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Norberto Buitrago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Miro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Loja S.C.'s López Enciso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Ubarna in the 12th minute of play. Raimundo Miro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Lombera in the 14th minute of play. Raimundo Miro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Texeira Noceda's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Dogo Argentino's Moises Godoy pulled a muscle in his back after 19 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Alberto Galli charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Galli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dogo Argentino made a substitution. Angel Iraunkor replaced Moises Godoy. Alberto Galli kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. With a little luck, Loja S.C.'s López Enciso got control of the ball when Angel Iraunkor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Loja S.C.'s López Enciso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Loja S.C. from getting a goal against them. Raimundo Miro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Lombera in the 25th minute of play. Raimundo Miro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Buitrago, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The audience was convinced that Raúl Lombera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raimundo Miro was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Gonzales Ordoñez in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Dogo Argentino's Leonel Abel. López Enciso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Abel in the 34th minute of the match. Gonzales Ordoñez made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Dogo Argentino's Leonel Abel. Leonel Abel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. López Enciso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Loja S.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Norberto Buitrago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. López Enciso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Iraunkor in the 54th minute of play. Loja S.C.'s López Enciso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Faron in the 56th minute of play. Raúl Lombera's late challenge caught a Dogo Argentino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raúl Lombera helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Leandro Ubarna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dogo Argentino's Leonel Abel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jorge Berroa, made in the 71st minute of the game. Lino Corderall's late challenge caught a Loja S.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino Corderall helped the player get up and apologised. Ricardo Faron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without López Enciso having to interfere. When Norberto Buitrago fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Loja S.C.'s protests and gave Norberto Buitrago a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 played minutes Loja S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Buitrago. After a rather tough play, Loja S.C.'s Jorge Berroa got a free kick in the 81st minute. When the match had been going on for 82 minutes Emilio Lorien shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by López Enciso when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when Dogo Argentino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Lorien didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute of the match Texeira Noceda sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raimundo Miro skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Faron in the 96th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper López Enciso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
