When Buenaventura FC's Christian Quirós in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rolando Peralta scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jelmer Oosterhof, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Buenaventura FC's Romel Torrijos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Zegers in the 25th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Who Ate All Depay's Leon Saveneij got a free kick in the 27th minute. When Christian Quirós came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Buenaventura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Quirós couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Who Ate All Depay getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Leon Saveneij hit a great ball. After 34 minutes of play, Who Ate All Depay's Kurt van der Schans made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romel Torrijos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute Rolando Peralta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jelmer Oosterhof saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Who Ate All Depay's Jelmer Oosterhof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Peralta in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kurt van der Schans made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt van der Schans in the 51st minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Romel Torrijos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Julio Lozano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 played minutes Who Ate All Depay got a freekick which was hit by Nico Williams. When Buenaventura FC's Rolando Peralta in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 63rd match minute, Who Ate All Depay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Saveneij to maneuver through the defense. Who Ate All Depay's Jelmer Oosterhof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Quirós in the 64th minute of play. Rolando Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jelmer Oosterhof tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jelmer Oosterhof made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Peralta in the 69th minute of play. Jelmer Oosterhof was a little too slow when Rolando Peralta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-2. Jelmer Oosterhof made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolando Peralta in the 77th minute. Arjen Tulner kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when Who Ate All Depay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sjoerd Oortwijn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Vervoort kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Christian Quirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jelmer Oosterhof tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christiaan Weinands kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 96 minutes, Jurjen Hoogenkamp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Who Ate All Depay and the Buenaventura FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Who Ate All Depay fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, Buenaventura FC's Orlando Fernandez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jelmer Oosterhof. The Buenaventura FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Buenaventura FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
