After a rather tough play, Club Olimpia's Olivar Camacho got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 7 played minutes Waitakere F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Chorche. Cordarrol Tama who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Sergio Nazario when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Haroldo Bocaran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Martxel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Waitakere F.C.'s Nicanor Pueblo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Bocaran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dodorol Mendibuey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Club Olimpia defense, Nicanor Pueblo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Bocaran. The Club Olimpia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Bocaran should have stopped the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Nicanor Pueblo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Club Olimpia's Haroldo Bocaran. Haroldo Bocaran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicanor Pueblo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haroldo Bocaran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Waitakere F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Silvano Martxel in the 29th minute. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when Waitakere F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Chorche didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes in the game Santana Bidania did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Romano Piega. Haroldo Bocaran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Pueblo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Bocaran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicanor Pueblo went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Club Olimpia's Haroldo Bocaran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Pueblo in the 41st minute of play. Haroldo Bocaran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicanor Pueblo went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvano Martxel made a kick off. Santana Bidania kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Club Olimpia's goalkeeper Haroldo Bocaran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvano Martxel. Nicanor Pueblo made a great header on Waitakere F.C.'s corner, it was just that Club Olimpia's Haroldo Bocaran managed to reach the ball for a save. Waitakere F.C.'s Tomas Unai was substituted for Arnoldo Oliviero. A collision led to Waitakere F.C. getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Silvano Martxel hit a great ball. Haroldo Bocaran was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Silvano Martxel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silvano Martxel really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Nicanor Pueblo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 67th playminute. 72 minutes into the game, Waitakere F.C.'s Silvano Martxel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haroldo Bocaran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. Sergio Nazario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romano Piega, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 78 played minutes Club Olimpia got a freekick which was hit by Lugo Zaton. In the 85th match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cordarrol Tama to maneuver through the defense. Haroldo Bocaran was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Silvano Martxel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silvano Martxel really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. Tomas Unai received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Haroldo Bocaran came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Unai slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 94th minute. The Club Olimpia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Waitakere F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
