The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Albertinho Travassos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Várzea F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Albertinho Travassos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Albertinho Travassos hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Brice McKee came free, but Serafim Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jame Leal during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
