But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remus Şimandan couldn't finish the play. Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Mardarie in the 46th minute of play. Marian Trapcea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Luís Fernandez having to make a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remo Borges was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez got control of the ball when Manuel Căliman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Vides's late challenge caught a UFC Tariverde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Vides helped the player get up and apologised. Leonardo Vides hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Pedro Luís Fernandez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Mardarie's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Mardarie in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Luís Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martin Mardarie struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Pedro Luís Fernandez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC Tariverde. Martin Mardarie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of UFC Tariverde booed when Marzagão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrinho Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd match minute, UFC Tariverde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Chihaia to maneuver through the defense. Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Mardarie in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleiton Paulista in the 97th minute of play forced UFC Tariverde's goalkeeper Marcel Uzuneanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. UFC Tariverde walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
