Shane Steadman came out of the goal and Florentino Gaspard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tod Jones in the 14th minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Enrique Urtsin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shane Steadman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Madeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Liam Bettney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Urtsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20thth minute of the game Rogelio Madeo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garlic Eaters's Shane Steadman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Damaso Playo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Liam Bettney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damaso Playo had several of the Garlic Eaters's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Shane Steadman as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 32 minutes, Louie Barfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garlic Eaters and the Vélez Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Louie Barfield hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Shane Steadman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damaso Playo in the 35th minute. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Rogelio Madeo sped through Garlic Eaters's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Shane Steadman. Shane Steadman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Madeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damaso Playo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Shane Steadman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Damaso Playo got free in front of the goal in the 41st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Shane Steadman was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ivor Gobey kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Damaso Playo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 45th playminute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

55 minutes into the match, Rogelio Madeo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shane Steadman. Garlic Eaters's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Madeo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Rogelio Madeo succeeded in the game's 58th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. When Bill Britton fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garlic Eaters's protests and gave Bill Britton a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Garlic Eaters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bill Britton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 minutes of play, Garlic Eaters's Tod Jones made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrique Urtsin was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Pietro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Madeo in the 77th minute of play forced Garlic Eaters's goalkeeper Shane Steadman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anacleto Eztebe hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match.
