After taking down the ball on Panionios MK's corner Evaggelos Saridakis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rene Higuita quite easily take care of the ball. Valerios Mitras's late challenge caught a Criciúma Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valerios Mitras helped the player get up and apologised. Valerios Mitras hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Manos Vougas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuxila Urrejola, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Panionios MK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Nuxila Urrejola scored to the left of an out of position Manos Vougas, making the score, 1-0. Rene Higuita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaggelos Saridakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the game, Veniamin Manolas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rene Higuita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 35 minutes into the game, Panionios MK's Vaggelis Raditsas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rene Higuita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Nuxila Urrejola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaggelis Raditsas in the 41st minute of play. When Criciúma Esporte Clube's Nuxila Urrejola in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panionios MK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 44th match minute, Criciúma Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ur Cribell to maneuver through the defense. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vaggelis Raditsas to make the kick off. Manos Vougas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuxila Urrejola in the 52nd minute of play. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Nuxila Urrejola pulled a muscle in his back after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 55th minute, one of Panionios MK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Panionios MK. Martino Ybañez took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manos Vougas. Manos Vougas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veniamin Manolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Martino Ybañez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 75 minutes, Veniamin Manolas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panionios MK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Veniamin Manolas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Panionios MK booed when Criciúma Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martino Ybañez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giannis Kassimatis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rene Higuita came out and tried to block the shot, but Giannis Kassimatis slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 83rd minute. After 86 minutes, Stathis Iordanopoulos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panionios MK and the Criciúma Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 86 played minutes Panionios MK got a freekick which was hit by Stathis Iordanopoulos. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Martino Ybañez sped through Panionios MK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manos Vougas. Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veniamin Manolas in the 91st minute of the match. Lucian Torre hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's Veniamin Manolas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rene Higuita narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
