Beppe Di Piazza started the match with the kick off. Angelo Tacco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bertil Bergkvist went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Beppe Di Piazza struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Otto Linqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calenzano. After 27 minutes, Anfilogino Traini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calenzano and the Flock of Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Flock of Eagles booed when Calenzano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anfilogino Traini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bertil Bergkvist took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Tacco. Angelo Tacco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Beppe Di Piazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Otto Linqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beppe Di Piazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Otto Linqvist made a huge save. Otto Linqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Traini, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Flock of Eagles's Bertil Bergkvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Tacco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.

Otto Linqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano Maurizi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bertil Bergkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertil Bergkvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the game, Håkan Holm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flock of Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calenzano the free kick. The supporters of Calenzano booed when Flock of Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Håkan Holm didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th match minute, Calenzano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Maurizi to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the game, Calenzano's Alvaro Aloisi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Flock of Eagles eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
