The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Honrio Moñiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adulfo Teresa in the 5th minute of the match. Rozarius Buron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvino Galnares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iliana Vielva in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Real Unión CF were awarded a corner. Pes Roca went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Real Unión CF's Pes Roca to fire away a dangerous shot which Alvino Galnares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alvino Galnares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Soter Cacho in the 20th minute. Ildefonso Cuello's late challenge caught a Salud y República's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ildefonso Cuello helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Real Unión CF's Ildefonso Cuello got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 34th minute, Andoitz Talavera made a precise shot to the right of Honrio Moñiz. Real Unión CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Iliana Vielva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Alvino Galnares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 42 minutes, Rozarius Buron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Unión CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rozarius Buron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Prieto in the 46th minute of play forced Real Unión CF's goalkeeper Honrio Moñiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iliana Vielva to strike the kick off in the second half. Real Unión CF's Honrio Moñiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andoitz Talavera in the 53rd minute of play. Honrio Moñiz came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Salud y República's Higinio Prieto. But to his dismay, Higinio Prieto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Juan Mudarra kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Osoro Raya. Honrio Moñiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adulfo Teresa in the 61st minute of the match. In the 63rdth minute of the game Andoitz Talavera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Unión CF's Honrio Moñiz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Salud y República booed when Real Unión CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Cuello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Salud y República's Andoitz Talavera in the 65th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Honrio Moñiz was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Real Unión CF through an amazing save. After 66 minutes of play, Salud y República's Higinio Prieto made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Honrio Moñiz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rozarius Buron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adulfo Teresa hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Juan Mudarra hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Higinio Prieto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Honrio Moñiz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Salud y República's Higinio Prieto got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Juan Mudarra fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salud y República's protests and gave Juan Mudarra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 98th match minute, Salud y República was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Mudarra to maneuver through the defense. The Salud y República supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Salud y República would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
