The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nilson Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Veiga in the 4th minute. Jailson dos Santos's late challenge caught a GLADIADORES's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jailson dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th minute, Jailson dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doriva Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão de Lara in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edvaldo Soares in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doriva Prado saved GLADIADORES from getting behind. Nilson Paranaense was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Flavinho Brodel. In the 19th minute, GLADIADORES's Enio Moraes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Enio Moraes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GLADIADORES protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Enio Moraes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 21st minute, Enio Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in GLADIADORES's zone, Cido Cosme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doriva Prado came out of the goal and Cido Cosme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the match, GLADIADORES's goal looked a bit too open when Simão de Lara came free, but Doriva Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cido Cosme made a great header on Mamutes EC's corner, it was just that GLADIADORES's Doriva Prado managed to reach the ball for a save. Mamutes EC's Nilson Paranaense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Mamutes EC from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 52nd match minute, Mamutes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd match minute, GLADIADORES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Nilson Paranaense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christiano Cavalcante went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 67th minute Edvaldo Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Prado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to GLADIADORES getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Agnaldo Dias hit a great ball. After 79 played minutes Mamutes EC got a freekick which was hit by Rui Lago. A collision led to GLADIADORES getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Christiano Cavalcante hit a great ball. GLADIADORES were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
