Tim Coates charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tim Coates the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC 08 Brühl booed when El Canalla de Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Coates didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roosevelt Guthrie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heribert Kimpel in the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kilian Böhme got free with Roosevelt Guthrie in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Heribert Kimpel fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC 08 Brühl's protests and gave Heribert Kimpel a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes FC 08 Brühl got a freekick which was hit by Heribert Kimpel. Kent Carney hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 28th minute of the game was made by Ryan Wolff with Rodrigo Schliemann as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. El Canalla de Chicago's Roosevelt Guthrie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save El Canalla de Chicago from getting a goal against them. Kent Carney's late challenge caught a FC 08 Brühl's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. FC 08 Brühl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Canalla de Chicago the free kick. Roosevelt Guthrie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heribert Kimpel, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Canalla de Chicago had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
