Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lopez Pelegrina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serafim Simão had several of the One Piece FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Lopez Pelegrina as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Serafim Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulysses Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Dunixi Claudio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. One Piece FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dunixi Claudio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by David Vale. Serafim Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 33 minutes into the game, Serafim Simão lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Lopez Pelegrina. A collision led to One Piece FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dunixi Claudio hit a great ball. Serafim Simão's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 43rdth minute, Lopez Pelegrina skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Serafim Simão in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lopez Pelegrina saved One Piece FC from getting behind. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Hermínio de Queirós replaced Norberto Passos. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Hortêncio Mandrak replaced David Vale. Lopez Pelegrina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafim Simão's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. When Serafim Simão came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. In the 80th minute, Jhon Barcellos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serafim Simão in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lopez Pelegrina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Palestra do Interior's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
