Nilmar Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Christian Monteiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jan-Joost Smeekes came out and tried to block the shot, but Christian Monteiro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Seagulls's zone, Luís Paulo Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Joost Smeekes came out of the goal and Luís Paulo Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carsten Klaasens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Severino Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Luís Paulo Zonta made a precise shot to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. Seagulls's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Jan-Joost Smeekes was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Luís Paulo Zonta capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luís Paulo Zonta really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sanderson Costa in the 70th minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Carsten Klaasens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5.
