A collision led to Guará FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Luís Eduardo Maciel hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goalkeeper Célio Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcos Cordairo. If Dario Vincent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th match minute, Guará FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geraldo Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Espirillo FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcos Cordairo in the 17th minute. Espirillo FC's Honorio Mon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Célio Mendonça in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alfredinho Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Espirillo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredinho Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. Silvio Vidal might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Célio Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvio Vidal ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th match minute, Espirillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Jordy to maneuver through the defense. Célio Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Marcos Cordairo sent off a good shot on target. Marcos Cordairo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Célio Mendonça when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Marcos Cordairo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 45 played minutes Espirillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Vidal. Alfredinho Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thiago Matorin was the one to do the kick off. When Marcos Cordairo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Espirillo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Cordairo couldn't finish the play. Célio Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Cordairo, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Alfredinho Alvarenga hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Guará FC's zone, Silvio Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Mendonça came out of the goal and Silvio Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Célio Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Cordairo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Silvio Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Ferrando came free, but Célio Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cordairo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Mendonça having to interfere. Célio Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Cordairo, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Espirillo FC's Isaac Delfino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredinho Alvarenga in the 93rd minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Espirillo FC fully deserved thier win.
