When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Franco Nicolai took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Grigore Mardarie to make any attempt to save it. 16 minutes into the match, Florin Mironescu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Medoacus Maior's Flavio Corrente. Flavio Corrente was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Medoacus Maior defense, Lucrețiu Stolniceanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Corrente. The Medoacus Maior fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Corrente should have stopped the shot. Antonello Garibaldi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Grigore Mardarie came out and tried to block the shot, but Antonello Garibaldi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 22nd minute. Antonello Garibaldi was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The crowd rose to their feet as Franco Nicolai kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Grigore Mardarie. That made the score 3-3 in the 27 minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Camillo Colecchia had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Eduard Mihăilescu's late challenge caught a Medoacus Maior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduard Mihăilescu helped the player get up and apologised. Medoacus Maior made a substitution. Augusto Carafa replaced Camillo Colecchia. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulvio Scoca got free with Grigore Mardarie in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grigore Mardarie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Nicolai, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Medoacus Maior's Augusto Carafa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Grigore Mardarie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. In the 44th minute, Augusto Carafa made a precise shot to the right of Grigore Mardarie. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-3. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-3.

The wind increased when Augusto Carafa made the kick off in the second half. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Eduard Mihăilescu got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Eduard Mihăilescu off the ground. The supporters of Medoacus Maior booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position.
