Arda Zühtü hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. FC St. Pauli's Dário Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Hasret Türemen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The HaŚhÂşÏLeR players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC St. Pauli were winning 0-1.

After some careless play in the FC St. Pauli defense, Çakabey Varan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guilherme Mendonça. The FC St. Pauli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guilherme Mendonça should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Munhoz in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ateş Bilen saved HaŚhÂşÏLeR from getting behind. Guilherme Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Osimhen in the 70th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, HaŚhÂşÏLeR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hasret Türemen to maneuver through the defense. After 80 minutes, Willian Guerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC St. Pauli and the HaŚhÂşÏLeR players grew even worse after the yellow card. 88 minutes into the game, Çakabey Varan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Guilherme Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jacinto Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
