After a defensive mix-up in Farafulla FC's zone, Ricardo Mora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Valeriani came out of the goal and Ricardo Mora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the game, GuateFortín's Ricardo Mora nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dave Valeriani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Elias Talia hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The supporters of Farafulla FC booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Valenzuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Farafulla FC were furious when Felice Di Marco was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 24th match minute, Farafulla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Malatesta to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Mora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Valeriani having to interfere. Juan Manuel Martínez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dave Valeriani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Alvarez in the 32nd minute of play. When Jorge Valenzuela fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GuateFortín's protests and gave Jorge Valenzuela a yellow card for diving instead. Jorge Valenzuela kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Ricardo Mora took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dave Valeriani. Dave Valeriani dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Jorge Valenzuela blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dave Valeriani having to make a save. 46 minutes into the game, Ercole Rea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of German Montoya. Ercole Rea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 51 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Brizuela. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Maurício Pellegrino hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Gabriel Brizuela reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dave Valeriani. The goal made the score 1-3. After some careless play in the Farafulla FC defense, Ricardo Mora kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dave Valeriani. The Farafulla FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dave Valeriani should have stopped the shot. GuateFortín made a substitution. Gilberto Escobar replaced Jorge Collado. GuateFortín's Ruben Toledano was substituted for Gabriel Brizuela. 67 minutes into the match, Farafulla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Valenzuela came free, but Dave Valeriani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Mora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Dave Valeriani made a huge save. 70 minutes into the match, Farafulla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Toledano came free, but Dave Valeriani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
